Yell is the largest of the North Isles, having a population of just under 1000. It has much to offer to wildlife enthusiasts, hill walkers and those who simply want peace and quiet. It is also noted for its scenery and geology and provides a wide range of interests for visitors and residents alike. Crofting is a way of life on the island.
North-a-Voe is approximately 40 miles from Lerwick by road and involves an inter-island ferry crossing. A ro-ro ferry runs from Toft on the Shetland mainland to Ulsta at the south end of the island of Yell.
Mid Yell is the main centre of population on the island and is only about 3 miles from North-a-Voe. It has a shop, junior high school, health centre, boating club and leisure centre with heated swimming pool. In Aywick, a further 3 miles from Mid Yell there is a shop with Post Office and fuel pumps. The ro-ro ferries to Unst and Fetlar leave from Gutcher at the north end of the island.
2 Kirkabister is south west facing and has views over Mid Yell Voe towards Mid Yell. The attached plan shows the boundary of the property. The purchaser is responsible for erecting a stockproof fence around the boundary.
The furniture has now been removed and therefore the property is unfurnished. Please note that the photos used were taken in late 2018.
